Amicable recovery is won in the first three weeks
A practice of enforcement officers handles around 4,800 amicable recovery files a year for landlords, managing agents and businesses. Thirty-eight per cent settle before any proceedings — provided the debtor was reminded at the right moment, on the right channel, and could pay easily.

The starting point
An amicable file that drags becomes a court file, dearer for everyone
The first reminder goes out quickly. The second depends on who has time. The third often does not happen, and the file tips into proceedings by default rather than by decision. For the creditor it is longer and costlier; for the debtor it is a growing debt; for the practice it is work that pays less than an amicable settlement.
- Reminders 2 and 3 dependent on someone's availability
- The debtor has to call to find out how to pay
- The creditor calls the practice for the status of their files
- The move to proceedings happens by oversight, not by choice
What gets deployed
Industrialise the amicable phase to keep humans for the hard part
- 01
The file carries its dates
Debt, creditor, debtor, amount, formal notice date, statutory periods. Modelled as a business object, it lets a date trigger instead of waiting to be looked at.
- 02
The amicable sequence runs itself
Letter, then a reminder at D+8, a scheduled call at D+15, a final reminder at D+25 before escalation. Each step is traced and time-stamped — which matters as much to the creditor as to a judge.
- 03
Paying becomes easier than avoiding
Every reminder carries its payment link, with an instalment plan if you grant one. Removing the friction does more for the recovery rate than one more reminder.
- 04
The creditor looks instead of calling
A space where the landlord or the business sees the status of their files, the sums collected and the next steps. Follow-up calls disappear, and the mandate renews more easily.

Frequently asked questions
Are automatic reminders compatible with the amicable recovery framework?
The framework requires wording, periods and information to the debtor; it does not require the reminder to be typed by hand. Your templates carry the wording, the workflow respects the periods you set, and every send is time-stamped and kept. The compliance of your templates remains your responsibility.
Do you replace our practice software?
No. Accounting, writs, service of documents and formalities stay with your specialist publisher. We take the relationship, amicable chasing and creditor updates, and the two talk through the API.
Are calls to the debtor traced?
Yes: date, duration, summary, attached to the file. Recording can be enabled with caller notice, or limited to the summary with no audio kept.
What does this add to a 38% amicable recovery rate?
The gain comes from regularity: a reminder that goes at the right moment, through the right channel, and stops the instant the debtor replies or pays. Across 4,800 files a year, those are files that do not go to proceedings for want of a chase.
Twelve staff — does that mean twelve licences?
No: the Professional plan is billed to the account, and capacity is bought by tier. You do not pay a full licence for a colleague who only consults the data.
